LATELY a motorcycle that are formed to be more flat has been preferred by some communities. Demands are not only from bikers of the big cities, but in some areas has also been 'endemic'. In fact, some 'ceperis' (the term for a biker who owns/rides the flat motorcycle, ed.), also have done a number of touring to many regions to interact with other communities.

One of the 'ceperis' which has toured to a number of areas is Heriyanto (19), Chairman of the Ceper Independent Baturaja (CIB). CIB is a community of flat motors that is located in Palembang, South Sumatra. Until today, a number of areas have been explored by Heriyanto with his Honda Supra X 125 which has been flatted since 2009. Usually, when touring to a number of areas would take a minimum of two-week time.

"I've done the touring using my flat motorcycle to seek for fellow bikers and tighten the brotherhood of bikers in Indonesia," said Heriyanto to TNOL.

He said he had just toured to a number of areas on the island of Java, such as to Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi, Karawang, Indramayu, Cirebon, Brebes and Tegal. Previously, Heriyanto also has explored some areas in Sumatra such as Bengkulu, Padang, Lahat and Medan. There is one area that he wanted to explore in the near future, that is the town of Sabang at the tip of the Sumatra Island.

With fellow 'ceperis'According to Heri, the close call for this man who was born in Baturaja, December 12, 1992, the touring using flat motorcycle was also to show that flat motorcycles are safe from various accidents. Moreover, flat motorcycles cannot be driven at high speed. This is different if the motor is still of standard-based, that are often taken at high speed on the roads.

Flat motorcycle riding, continued Heri, also will not make other road users angry. It will instead make other road users laugh due to seeing the shape of the bike that is transformed to be flat.

In a place visited..."We don't make people angry. In fact, most people laugh to see the flat motorcycle," he said.

When touring to a number of areas, Heri visited the flat motor or trash motor communities. Visiting the trash motorcycle communities, according to Heri, because they have something in common with flat motorcycle, that are both unique and can make people laugh. While related the funding needed for each touring, has taken at least IDR 500 thousand, that was taken from his savings.

Before his bike was changed to flat, Heri toured using his friend's flat motorcycle. "Compared to a standard motorcycle, a flat motorcycle is way safer," he said.

Meeting SBY

With his favorite motorcycle...As a specialist of flat motorcycles, Heri has a desire that he has kept in mind. The desire is to meet with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). If it can be done, Heri wants to express that lovers and fans of flat motorcycles are not the communities that like motor racing.

"Riding my flat motorcycle, I hope to see the President of Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, related to the CIB, Heri said, the CIB began as a motorcycle community named Baturaja Motor Otomotif Club (Ban Motto). But because each time Ban Motto held a gathering only a few members attended, Heri got out of Ban Motto on December 24, 2008. The next year, or on December 17, 2009, Heri formed the CIB community.

"Because many members were not present in each of the gathering, so I just quit and formed the CIB," he said firmly. (Sbh) (ms)
