Although her name is well-known at the music world, especially in harp musical, Maya Hasan makes no strangers to the theater. In fact, she has written, directed and played theater for several times. No wonder, when she was asked to play in the theater titled 'Rumah Boneka' (Ind.), adapted from the work of Hendrik Iben titled A Doll's House, the woman born on January 10, 1972 was directly expressed her willingness.

"Actually I'm also confused as to why I said yes, because so far I only know musical notes. For me, memorizing musical notes are more easily than words, so that it need treatments. So, that what I consider to be the challenge," said Maya at the Gallery Cafe at Taman Ismail Marzuki, on Wednesday night (8/3).

Another challenge, if playing music she has already known from the beginning to the end. While in theatrical matters, not only she has to memorize dialogues, but she also has to master the emotions. Well, the theatrical play has increasingly attracted her because the musical theater is currently trending.

Because, the works of Hendrik Iben was only displayed on students' exams, but now it will be staged to the public. That way, it needs to learn to talk and gesture processing.

Maya has already started training with the other players. In A Doll's House, Maya has the role as Nora. Nora is described as someone who asks about her marital life for many years to her husband.

According to Maya, the character Nora is not the same as hers. Maya is an open-minded figure. By nature, she is also aware of some things that men can do, that cannot be done by women.

Maya considered, the message delivered in the Doll's House has been a lot, not just for women but also for men. "The story is very complex and interesting. Women can have their introspection here," said Maya.

In addition to playing theater, Maya has also played in some movies. She also has often got offers to the big screen. But, since she hasn't had many spare times, has made her not to accept the offers.

Well, like on the upcoming August 10, she has to fly to the Netherlands. As a result, her theatrical training with other players has to be re-scheduled to another day. (Sbh) (ms)
