Sleep is Important as Exercise!

Exercise regularly is beneficial to health mainly reduce the risk of cancer. However, the benefits of physical activity is meaningless if the relatively poor quality of sleep.

A research in Maryland, United States involving 5968 participants recently indicated, sleep and exercise are the two components are equally important in influencing cancer risk.

The quality and quantity of sleep also determine the risk level of cancer, particularly among women. Those who exercise regularly are less likely to have cancer. But when the researchers to probe the group that includes active exercise, fulfilling the need for sleep turned out to affect cancer risk.

Participants who sleep less than seven hours each night and recorded a 47 percent greater risk of developing cancer than those who are physically active and sleep enough. The results of this study are reported in the journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

The leader of researcher, James McClain, of the National Cancer Institute declared his team have not been able to explain why sleep deprivation can cause women more susceptible to cancer.

"Getting enough sleep for a long time indeed related to health," McClain said.

Experts say lack of sleep that are already chronic problems associated with obesity, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, vascular disease, depression, smoking and drunk.

In addition, studies also show people who exercise regularly have a lower risk of breast cancer, colon cancer and other cancer types. Experts estimated, exercise provides enormous impact on hormone levels, immune and weight. ** [rs]
