The sperm exposed to WiFi signal, will experience a decreased ability to move towards an egg...

IllustrationIllustrationRecently, a scientific study has estimated that a laptop connected wirelessly to the internet, and placed on the thighs close to the testes, can lower the level of male fertility.

Avendano, Mata, Sanchez Sarmiento and Doncel, are the four Argentinian scientists who have conducted the study with healthy sperm placed under the laptop that was connected to the WiFi.

After four hours, the sperm exposed to the WiFi signal showed a significant decrease in the ability to move forward to the ovarian egg cells, also the increased DNA fragmentation. These conditions were very different when compared with healthy sperm stored at the same time and temperature, but away from the computer.

IllustrationIllustrationAs reported by the International Business Times, on Wednesday (11/30/2011), the circumstances have indicated that the sperm exposed to the WiFi, will experience a decreased ability to move toward the egg cells, and if any is able to fertilize, the sperm will have less male DNA.

Meanwhile, a separate test also showed that other sperm placed near the computer (without the WiFi connections) did not cause the same damage. **MS (ms)
