A permanent exhibition about games has been opened for public starting on January 21, 2011 in Berlin, Germany. The museum authority said that they have more than 300 exhibit objects and more than 14,000 historical archives of games from time to time.

The permanent exhibition which was given the title of "Computerspiele. Evolution eines Mediums" or "Computer Games. Evolution of a Medium" is located in the museum named the Computerspielemuseum, which is the latest public effort from Andreas Lange, a German collector and former gaming appraiser.

As quoted by der Spiegel, Lange first held a Public Game Collection event or exhibition of his own personal game collection in 1997. Lange's collection reopened again in East Berlin, thanks to help from Ralph Bear, a German-American descent, creator of the Magnavox Odyssey and in the West is recognized as one of the father of the gaming industry. Other funders for the establishment of this game museum also include the Germany Lottery Foundation and the European Regional Development Fund.

Among the objects on display include the Wall of Game Milestones, a list that displays dozens of game titles that are able to move this industry to success in each and any other ways, by showing the relationships between game-world artists and real-world ones, thinkers and technology trends.

The museum is also a complement of several similar game museums that were opened before, such as the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, the exhibition of the National Center for the History of Electronic Play in early 2009 that presented more than 15,000 collection of games. Earlier, in 2008, the British also had held the event of First National Video Game Archive in Bradford National Media Museum.
