WEARING THE KABAYA on Eid al-Fitr will definitely look beautiful and fun. But certainly not a formal one, but rather a casual Kabaya. Yes, the Kabaya can be worn not only when attending formal events, rather it can also be worn in different situations. Plus, it can be combined and matched not only with a cloth, but it could also be with a skirt, jeans or pants of other materials. Therefore, it needs some ways to choose the right Kabaya for the Eid.

Here are some tips on how to choose the Kabaya for the Eid:

1. Adjust with body shape

In order to make the Kabaya to look beautiful and fits in the body, note your body shape. For short and skinny body, you should choose an open collar in the chest area like the sabrina or V model, with a bubble or wrinkle-arm style. Create a piece of Kabaya to the limit of the waist or thighs. For the tall and thin, it is better suited to such models like the shanghai, turtleneck or stand collar. Vary it with bell, wrinkle, or short-sleeve models.

Such tall and firm body is suitable to apply with the open collar like the sabrina or V model. You can also choose the open-back or off-shoulder models. Apply with a sleeve-shaped narrowed or widened at the bottom. Avoid accent lines on the abdomen and avoid pieces of Kabaya that does not cover the hips. For the short and firm body, use the open collar at the shoulders and back. Pair it with shaped arms narrowed or widened at the bottom. To hide the excess fat, create pieces of Kabaya that covers the hips.

2. Color

The color is equally important in determining the Kabaya to be worn on the Eid day. Choose the colors that tend to be soft, like pastel colors so it would avoid from the heavy and formal impressions. To strengthen the impression of beautiful, match it with embroidered accents on the collar, sleeves and bottom edge.

3. Fit to age

Choosing the age-appropriate Kabaya can make the wearer to look pretty and not too excessive. For those of you who are younger, choose the Kabaya dress which does not exceed the waist length or slightly longer, accented with a simple embroidery. As for the mature ones, choose the long Kabaya with more 'weighted' embroideries.

4. In line with the accessories worn

Whatever the choice of accessories will be worn, adjust them with the Kabaya's color tone. Customise also the color of your veil with the Kabaya. When you want to wear a veil and a patterned embroidery, you should be careful, don't let your appearance to look a little too 'crowded'. (Various sources) (ms)
