Media briefing before the planting event(Photo: Nopiyanti)As one of the ecological balance, some people as well as a number of companies planting mangroves to protect the environment. One of them is PT. Daikin Indonesia. The company was planting mangrove trees in Kapuk Nature Tourism Park, North Jakarta, a few days ago.

Unmitigated, they planted 4,000 seedlings of mangroves. President Director of PT. Daikin Indonesia, Urip Sugiono, and representatives of Daikin Industries Limited, Mr. Masihiro Noguchi, were also attended the event. They even did not hesitate to plant the seedlings. They were accompanied by the Mayor of North Jakarta, Bambang Sugiyono.

"Therefore, our industrial activities during work in Indonesia will always strived to walk hand in hand with programs relating to conservation," Urip added.

They realize as well, keeping the ecosystem and environmental conservation is uneasy. Therefore, it takes a long term serious commitment. Now, through a mangrove planting program, they will also be responsible to maintain those seedlings. This program is expected to be a real contribution to environmental conservation as well as better life of consumers.

(Photo: Nopiyanti)Mangrove tree planting aims to withstand the abrasion of seawater and to absorb carbon from the air that will reducing emission as well. This is not a new program implemented by Daikin. In February 2002, Daikin Global has created the symbol of environment concern to create green environment.

They think, even the small thing done by each individual, it will leads to something big. The symbol was created in a form of "Heart Shaped Earth with Green color." The symbol that represents the determination of each section and all employees of Daikin that should always think Green or thinking about the earth and preserve its environment.

(Photo: Nopiyanti)In November 2008, Daikin Industries in collaboration with the Conservation International carried out reforestation program to plant 5,000 seedlings in 10 hectares of land in the village of Nagrak, Sukabumi. In August 2009, Daikin Industries was also implemented environment education programs to 200 elementary students in surrounding Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, as their concern to development of people who live close to the reforestation area.
