BUMN To Target 2 Trillion for PKBL

The Gelar Karya Program Kerja Bina Lingkungan (PKBL) BUMN 2010 " Environment Assistance Work Program Exhibition" that has been waiting for many people finally launched by the Minister of BUMN "State Owned Enterprises", Mr. Mustafa Abubakar, on Wednesday (5/24) in Jakarta Convention Center. Thousands of UMKM (Micro Small Intermediate Business) from various BUMN were actively involve in promoting their product or primary services in the exhibition that will held until March 28, 2010.

Mustafa Abubakar said, "The Government will continue to support BUMN in implementing PKBL." Currently, the entire of BUMN in Indonesia has been assisting for 65,000 UMKM in partnership program. They also provide grant to help the community through the environment assistance program.

The partnership program and environment assistance are definitely belongs to the corporate social responsibilities of the company. Refers to the regulation, since 1989, each of BUMN should spent 1% to 2% of their annual benefit to this program. The allocated fund used to be a revolving fund (particularly for partnership program) and grant for the environment assistance program.Foto: SasFoto: Sas

The result is, the total of PKBL fund from the entire BUMN is reach to Rp 10 trillion, which is directly distributed by related BUMN.

"The PKBL is a part of company's commitment in increasing awareness to the UMKM development, including to the community surrounding the company. The Ministry of BUMN and the related BUMN is unremitting to enhance coordination in distributing the PKBL fund," Mustafa explained during the Exhibition launching.

BUMN should improve the effectiveness of PKBL fund distribution. Therefore, The Ministry of BUMN will carry out study and evaluation on related PKBL system or mechanism, toward to the effectiveness and appropriate distribution fund. Priority scale and measurement should be existed, particularly in sharpen the assistance program at each UMKM sector.

"Firstly, we provide the fishes, and then we give the hook. Moreover, if they have the ability, we will encourage the UMKM to make their hook.

Up to now, the PKBL fund distribution continues to increase, in line with the improvement of financial performance of BUMN. In 2009, the total profit of BUMN reached to Rp 78 trillion, or higher than the predicted target which is Rp 70 trillion.

"In this year, we predicted that BUMN profit will reach to Rp 92,7 trillion; so in last five years, PKBL fund from BUMN reached to Rp 2 trillion annually," Mustafa explained.

Director of Bank Mandiri, Mr. Agus Martowardjojo, Director of PT Jamsostek (Persero) Mr. Hotbonar Sinaga, Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar, and of few BUMN management were attending the Exhibition.

During 2010, BUMN PKBL Exhibition Garuda Indonesia was promoting 10 booths of assisted working group. The aviation BUMN is providing assistance fund as well as continue to increasing the competency of UKM through trainings program.
