In fact, Indonesia has been reportedly the largest BlackBerry market in the world! The proof can be seen by so many people seen with their BB's. At home, at work, on vehicles and in public places.

Along with the proliferation of BlackBerry users in Indonesia, many communities have increasingly popped up everywhere, one of which is the Jakarta BlackBerry (BB Jak) community, which was founded on August 11, 2009. Now, this community has thousands of members in their member's list. "About the number of our members, to date have been recorded a thousand more. However, the active ones, or actively joining on the mailing list, have been around six hundred people, "said Limin, Public Relations of Jak BB.

Photo: Doc. Jak BBAccording to Limin, this community was originated from 16 BlackBerry users who had frequently get together. From those on, it was sparked an idea to form a community of BlackBerry fans, which can be used as containers of information sharing for BlackBerry users on the go.

"With this community, it is expected to help users of BlackBerry, to optimize the functions of the BlackBerry, so it will not only be as a means of regular communication, but also to enhance its variety of features," said Limin.

Currently, Jak BB has a website at www.jak-bb.com and jak-bb@yahoogroups.com mailing list. There, the members of the Jak BB can have discussions about various things related to the BlackBerry, ranging from the BlackBerry product information, sharing applications, ringtones, up to upgrading the Operating System (OS).

Because in this community, BlackBerry users could consult about the damage that occurs in their BB to other members. And not only that, in this community a member can also get information on BlackBerry spare parts, as well as information about the latest BB prices. "Just for info, many members in our community are also the BlackBerry sellers anyway, which certainly can give special prices to Jak BB members," said Limin.

Interestingly, although the name of this community uses the 'Jakarta' frills, but it turns out that they also have members who come from outside Jakarta. "Our members are almost all over Indonesia now, up to China the farthest," said Limin.

Of this, Ryan Ramdhan, moderator of the Jak BB mailing list said, the reason he has been using a BlackBerry, was because the smartphone was considered to be able to facilitate a user to do his/her activities, like browsing the net, chatting, GPS, and others.

According to Ryan, in addition to mutual sharing of the BlackBerry, it turns out this community also has a variety of interesting activities, ranging from member's gathering to social activities.
