In every corner of this capital city of Indonesia, there are always cars passing by, crowding the narrow streets that look like not being arranged neatly. Well, we also must be willing to linger on the street. Not to mention the air pollution that generates fumes, so thick and unhealthy. Oh whatta mess!

Apparently, such conditions are also felt by the Komunitas Kring-Kring Kampus (K3K), a bicycle community that has felt uncomfortable with the current condition of transportation in Jakarta. Without thinking, they finally decided to go cycling (ngegowes, Ind.) their bikes to campus.

Gathered at Monas / doc.Gathered at Monas / doc.Take a look at Aldi Hidayat, a guy who is still registered as a student at the YAI Academy of Accounting; every week he cycles his bike two times from his home to campus. Though, the distance between his home to the campus is pretty far away, about 10 km.

He - no matter how sweaty, smelly, hot, or afraid he wouldn't look funky - stays motivated to ride his beloved bike to campus.

"Actually, cycling to campus can still look funky anyway, like every time I ride my bike to campus I often steal the attention of other students," he told TNOL with a smile.

Excited with their own bikes..Excited with their own bikes..According to Aldi, he dared to ride his bike to campus not because of he did not have the cost to buy gasoline. But, because he felt the pollution in Jakarta has become worst. So, he has chosen to ride his bike as a solution to reduce pollution in Jakarta.

"I think bicycling has become an effective solution for reducing pollution and the traffic jam in Jakarta. And to my opinion, the more people cycling, the less traffic jam will be in Jakarta," said Aldi.

This community was founded on May 8, 2010, on the coincidence that its founders were students or alumnus of the YAI Academy of Accounting. Although this community-member has the majority of YAI students, but they are always open to students from other campuses to join.

Cycling through the roads of Jakarta..Cycling through the roads of Jakarta.."We are always open for member students from other campuses, the goal is that the community will become greater," said Erdy Saparudi, Chairman of the Komunitas Kring-Kring Kampus added.

According to Erdy, currently the members of their community have reached as many as 40 people. They currently have always been active to perform cycling activities together once every week.

"In addition to cycling, we will also hold social activities to be conducted on the upcoming March 19," said Erdy confirming. (Subhan)
