Several years ago, in fact had occurred some phenomena in which most Indonesian television channels have scrambled to air the movies from India. And it all happened because of the success of a Hindi movie titled Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in public, whether they were fans of Bollywood movies or not.

Besides known as the most prolific film-producing country, India has also been known as a country that produces many international-class actors and actresses. The proof are a list of names of Hindi artists that have managed to perform in Hollywood, playing in various movies there. Names like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and others, have been popularly risen in the USA, as well as around the world.

And certainly, those names have also been loved by fans of Bollywood (the term refers to India, ed.) movies in Indonesia. It must be admitted, there have been quite a lot of Bollywood artists are so loved by the Hindi movie audiences in Indonesia. And because they love it, they then formed some fans communities of Bollywood artists, and one of them is the Aamir Khan Fans Club Indonesia (AKFCI) - the actor Aamir Khan's fans community.

And although it is still relatively new, but this community has been able to gain 350 members. "The active members are about 250 people," explained Acep Rancho Aamir Khan, the Chairman of AKFCI.

To further tighten the friendship among its members, the Aamir Khan Fans Club Indonesia has often held joint activities, ranging from gathering to watching movies together. "We don't have special schedules to hold gatherings; if we want to get together, then we get together," Acep explained.

In addition, he also considered that Aamir Khan is very clever in playing the roles in his movies. "Aamir Khan is also known as the Hindi director who has gained success abroad," explained Acep.

Another thing said by Aira Syifa, one of the founders of AKFCI; she admitted that she admired Aamir Khan because of his handsome face. In addition, he is also considered as a less-gossiped actor, "Aamir Khan is known as an actor who don't like to play around, so he is rarely being gossiped," Aira said.

No longer just talk about love, or ghost stories that were laced with quite pornographic scenes. "Actually, in Indonesia there have been indeed many quality movies, but unfortunately, the stories have mostly been taken from the novels that were already sold good in the market," said Aira. (ms)
