Alumni of SMUSAD 97 share donations to orphans/ Photos: Safari TNOLRAMADAN is special moment awaited by Muslims in the world. Because Allah Almighty said that Ramadan is a month of reward and blessings fond of gratitude and love others. Of course in this month, many parties provide and set aside some of fortunes for those less fortunate and the poor.
Indeed, this sense of sharing not only the noble attitude of being taught by all religions. More than that, the mind and instincts of humans as social beings are always requires us to be caring and sensitive to all the suffering, the perceived shortcomings and limitations of each other.
There's another side of our inner will suffer or feel guilty if we are having and feel the ease of living, while at the same time there are people around us that even just to meet even the minimum necessities of life difficult.
For that reason, Sunday (5 / 9) yesterday, a group alumni of SMA I Depok Class of 1997 (SMUNSAD 97) held social activities by handed on donations, basic foods, and breaking the fast together with Al Amanah Orphanage in Sukatani area, Sawangan.
According to Nelly Martin, the organizer of event, the social work conducted by SMUNSAD 97 has been started since year 2000. Social work was also done to gather the alumni of SMUNSAD '97 during Ramadan.
Up to now, Nelly continues, many of orphanages donated by SMUNSAD '97. Some of them are Darul Aitam, Arridho, Permata Insani and Al Amanah.
"We hope these donations could make our brothers and sisters happy. Moreover, they never felt such pleasure all this time," she explained.
After breaking the fast together, followed by prayers in congregation in the Mosque of Al Amanah, the event followed by dinner together. That evening, the food menu is Hoka-Hoka Bento package worth of Rp25,000. Students looked so amazed and surprised with the menu.
"We'll having delicious meals this time," one of the student said.
Al Amanah in A Glance
Al Amanah is orphanage foundation founded in July 13, 2005. The foundation led by H Samuslim and Kokom Darwulan and fostering 83 orphans and neglected children. They came from various cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta Greater Area, Java and some even from West Nusa Tenggara.
The establishment of this foundation started with the intention of H Samuslim who want to sympathize orphans live in Bedahan Sawangan, because they have worrying life and not getting a decent life.
With the intention of Bismilah [In The Name of Allah] the Al Amanah Mosque stands as the forerunner to the foundation.
The foundation have experienced many twists such as land fraud. However their pure intention helped them in overcome the problems.
