Photo : FirmansyahOn Sunday these community usually gather together. But this time is different, on November 7, 2010  at the Terminal Inter-City Inter-Province (AKAP), Rawamangun, Jakarta, around 10:00, dozens of people who joined in Bis Mania Community gathered to raise funds.

bmc3That day is when the bus fan community is trying to create a sense of participation and their concern over the eruption of Mount Merapi that killed hundreds of people. 

They make it happen by sending donations considered to be very necessary for the refugees among such as used clothing, masks, pempers, sanitary napkins, baby porridge, milk, fast food, toiletries and various other purposes.

Photo : FirmansyahAfter spending the relief items, dozens of people who participated in the meeting immediately pack the goods according to its type and then slid into the Pondok Ungu, Bekasi to depart the bus facility provided by Sumber Alam bus company.

"BMC has asked the willingness of the bus company to assist the activities we do. Pak Anthony, the owner of the company we immediately responded positively and provides a single bus unit to carry goods and volunteers," said Coordinator of BMC, Wahyudi Irianto.

Photo : FirmansyahAccompanied by a wave of hands and prayers of members of BBC, 22 volunteers across the communities including 3 member of BMC that is mas Mpiq, Ilham and Ipunk went to Yogja. Meanwhile, other volunteers came from Cross Community Care, among others, Community Volunteers, 1001 books community, Community OI Jakarta, Indonesia House Share (RUBI), Mailing List i-i-Radio FM listener (Miners), ACT,  and Dompet Dhuafa.

The logistics assistance and volunteers have arrived in Jogjakarta At 07:00 pm (Monday, 11/8).

Photo : Firmansyah"This is a national program of the BMC, so all the coordinator regions participated this activity, although at different times. The next shipment will be on next Tuesday afternoon," Wahyudi said.

He said the second phase of assistance will be delivered directly to BMC Semarang and will be directly forwarded to affected area, such as Mount Merapi in Magelang, Muntilan, Sleman Mungkid and West by using a bus provided by the PO Haryanto.
